Foreigners, immigrants in Yalova see the hand made needle work and Turkish motives around them, from their neighbours. They applied to Termal Public Education Centre. Ahmet Tuna started three types of courses for them. The first one is "needle work&seewing" course. The second one is "machine needle work" and the third one is "handmade needle work". 
In order to develop the 
intercultural dialogues Ahmet Tuna offers to mix local people with immigrants. So immigrants can teach their motives to locals and Turkish women can teach their traditional needle work to immigrants.

Women in that courses state that they come to these courses in order to use their time effectively, do their housework and earn their own work.
Women are both occupying at the centre and they help their family because at the end of the course they can get certificate and they can sell their works.

Thanks for your article Ayse.This must be a great benefit for both parts. Imigrants learning the language, the culture and making new friends and conacts. This is something we need to think about in Norway too. Until now we have only started to organise short meetings (1-3 h.) between our students and the local people. Hi Ayse. Interesting! Just what I myself love doing: mixing immigrants and local people. We have a lot to learn from eachother, and we (women) love talking while doing things :-)
Have you ever tried something as this with men too? (Not sewing, but other things?)

Can be a good point of view to work, following Bente, to analyze if there are diferences between your work with men and women. And other question: Are the most part of your inmigrant students women?
If the answer is yes, perhaps you could try to obtain the causes of it. And it could be a possibility for the other countries too.
Only one thing more... if you can, put the photos a bit bigger, because its a pity that we can not see them

:))) Thanks for all comments. As those courses are female works (at least for Turkiye)most of our students are female. In the following days we will start new courses and we will study both men&women. The majority of women or men change from time to time. Ok! for the photos, I will try to find new ones.
